About Test
IMAT is an entrance exam test for medical aspirants
who aspires to pursue international medical programmes. By appearing
for IMAT, students can take admission in surgery, dentistry, and
medicine in Italy, UK, the USA and many more nations. The “Cambridge
Assessed Entrance Test” and the “Italian Ministry of Education” work
closely with universities, and research (MIUR) to develop and
deliver International Medical Entrance Test. IMAT has its exam
centre in more than 20 nations and in India, British Council
undertakes the IMAT test.
Why Take the Test?
IMAT is a 100-minute subject-specific admissions test
in English for applicants national as well as international
applicants who want to pursue a medical programme in a public
university in Italy or any other country. You must surpass a test on
IMAT if wishes to pursue your medical career in foreign
universities. It has four sections encompassing: Section 1 – Logical
Reasoning and General Knowledge; Section 2 – Biology; Section 3 –
Chemistry; Section 4 – Physics and Mathematics. For every correct
answer, the candidate gets 1.5 points and for every wrong answer,
-0.4 point is deducted and the minimum score for the ranks is 20
points.

Eligibility
- The candidate is expected to have successfully
completed their 10+2 before applying for the IMAT. Furthermore,
work experience in healthcare, minimum 6.0 bands in IELTS or
TOEFL, gratifying score in 10+2, LOR, and reference letter from
teacher/academic supervisors.
